“You say you want a revolution?
We’d all love to see the plan!…
We all wanna change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out.
…You’d better free your mind instead.”
(From “Revolution” – John Lennon – Full lyrics below)
You can hear it here on YouTube
In Melbourne in November 2023, me and my daughter and 53,000 other people were waiting for Paul McCartney to come on stage.
We’d caught a tram there that was filled with people of all ages wearing Beatles t-shirts and chatting like old friends.
A very good natured happy crowd.
Inside the vast arena, old Beatles tracks were pumping out, video screens everywhere and the atmosphere was electric.
(Us at the concert!)
I’d gone out for a quick rest stop and walked back in to the stadium to John Lennon screaming
“Revolution”
I was transfixed.
It’s not often you get to face that many people, so
I turned around,
a solitary figure standing still in the middle of the empty space of the football ground,
looking up at the crowd, breathing it in.
My whole body tingled and the revolutionary magic of the Beatles surged in me.
Yes, all of us, we can make a change!
Old baby boomer that I am!
It’s hard to credit how big a shift occured back in the 1960’s, even those of us lucky enough to witness it can forget!
In a way, it was an unfulfilled promise.
The 60’s segued into the peace and love 70’s and then by the 80’s we were into glamour, money and success.
And so to today.
The real revolution is here and it doesn’t look like we thought it would!
What struck me is how that song is still relevant right now, 50-odd years after it was first written.
There can be little doubt that the current energy globally and personally, is one of
REVOLUTION
But, as the song points out, the much-needed changes can’t come from hate, reaction and anger to what’s going on around us.
It starts personal!
Getting clear on what you’re no longer willing to put up with, within your own world, with established patterns, habits, things we say we’d like to change, we’re going to change one day but somehow never do.
Iit’s a revolution in every area of your life –
what you’re eating, what you’re drinking, your sleep patterns, your exercise.
What you’re thinking!
And, the core of making that change has got come from, not reaction, or “I can’t stand this any longer!”
but out of clarity – getting very clear on “What is it I want to see in my life?” Relaxation, peace, community, kindness, abundance?
What overdue changes must you absolutely make now, for your life to expand?
It’s time to get clear on what you stand for, what you value, and most of all what you are creating that you’re not happy with..
What future would you like to see, and how do you bring that to fruition?
There’s an energy process in this video from the weekly Gold Energy Flow series that might just assist!

You say you want a Revolution
Well, you know
We all wanna change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
Well, you know
We all wanna change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out
Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright
Alright
Alright
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We are doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait
Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright
Alright
Alright
You say you’ll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well, you know
You’d better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright
Alright
Alright
Alright, alright
Alright, alright
